5 finds: Baby Girl Nursery Edit

Five Finds: Baby Girl Nursery edit.

It’s been a whirlwind at the Palma Dulce household. We welcomed our first baby girl in late May and we’re over the moon. Though these past three months have been the hardest yet, they have also been the most beautiful. Everything we see our daughter do we’re left with so much awe of how incredible life is. It’s been mesmerizing to see her slowly blossom into the light she is in our lives.

With little time in my hands, this week has been refreshing in that she now sleeps roughly six hours at night without interruptions. I’ve used that time to gather ideas for her nursery for the home we’re one day to have.

After passing my interior design professional certificate last fall, one of the lessons that stuck with me the most was to design with symmetry - or a common theme - when putting a room together. Symmetry can be many things: color, lines, or textures….we used that word loosely, but it was something we had to be cognizant of when presenting our design proposals in class.

When thinking of my baby girl’s room, I kept going for scalloped bed sheets, scalloped window pelmets, or scalloped frames for my prints. Adding pieces to her room with scalloped-finishes added a certain “child-like” feel to her beachy room. After picking my pieces, I searched for a centering piece that would bring the entire room together. It’s when I found this gorgeous chandelier that I knew I found a clear winner. Complete that with a soft sage and blue color scheme, her room may be my favorite room yet!
